As a 2018 Hampshire College graduate with a BFA in Storyboarding & Animation Production, who started their artistic career even earlier as a professional Graphic Designer (perennial intern→perma-freelancer), and before THAT, as an editor for a magazine, TOBY G takes pride in their ability to wear many hats.

Folks in this industry will advise you to specialize; choose the thing you’re most passionate about and make that your brand… well, screw that!

Toby has failed at more things than most people have tried… so they’re an extremely adaptable artist:

Able to solve problems on the fly, advise on budgeting and scheduling, offer detailed feedback, and learn new skills quickly!

THEY CAN:

BUDGET and SCHEDULE productions
BUILD WEBSITES, including this one!
2D ANIMATE both ROUGHS and CLEANUP — traditionally (digital or paper), in stop-motion, and with a 2D puppet/rig — using primarily ToonBoom Harmony, Clip Studio Paint, and Procreate (...plus Dragonframe for Stop Motion)
GRAPHIC DESIGN everything from hospital directories, to company logos, to T-shirts with custom typography and illustrations
WRITE fiction/fantasy, comic scripts, film scripts, and copy
DEVELOPMENTALLY EDIT other people’s writing
STORYBOARD for animation
CLEANUP animation and illustrations
EDIT, LETTER, and DRAW CUSTOM TYPOGRAPHY for COMICS
Draw CONCEPT ART and CHARACTER DESIGNS
SCULPT mixed media (polymer clay, plastic, paper, foam)
EDIT VIDEO and do the CONTENT CREATOR THING
BUILD stop-motion PUPPETS and PROPS

Some other fun facts about Toby are that they hosted a radio show at the age of 10, hold a gold Scholastic Artist award from
Boston Latin School, are published in several poetry journals, and won an $8,000 seed fund grant to produce their own animated pilot in 2017
(before almost immediately burning out and failing but it was a defining and invaluable learning experience regardless)
